The Government’s Positive Ageing Strategy was formally launched in April 2013.    It is a vision of a society for all ages which celebrates and prepares properly for population ageing.   The Strategy supports all ages to enjoy physical and mental health and wellbeing to their full potential.    It serves to promote and respect older people’s engagement in economic, social, cultural, community and family life and fosters better solidarity between generations.   The objectives of the Strategy are to ensure equality, independence, participation, care, self-fulfilment and dignity for all older people.
